Easter Treats …

Easter Treats …
The Easter Bunny forgot to come in our household this year.
I totally forgot to lay the treats out Thursday night/Friday morning, my hubby said: “that’s okay, JorjaRose thinks the Easter Bunny comes Saturday night/Sunday morning” … thank goodness I’m saved!

Anyways Sunday rolled around, and or course I had forgotten again!!!
I saw the remnants of the treats that had been eaten, and asked JorjaRose about it …
She said: “Mum you were half asleep in bed, and I asked if I could deliver the goodies to Reilly and me!” She used her southern accent of course, and rolled the “R” in Reilly! My family comes from Gore, and she really has the Southern accent and rolls all the “R”’s!!!   It's so cute!

So now I think I have failed the 2016 Easter Bunny, but hop{e} to be back on top for Easter next year.
So this is what the Easter Bunny brought to our lovely home last year ...

And how cute is this wee Bunny from the year before {2014} …

From my family to yours wishing you a safe and Happy Easter!

"Create With Kathe" Craft Class For Thursday 2nd April 2015

This weeks “Create With Kathe” Craft Class was all about my new “Berry Basket” Bigz L Die, which was featured in both projects.
We made a “Berry Basket Flower Pot” Card and a “Punch Art Easter Berry Basket” …

Project 1 “Berry Basket Flower Pot” Card

The cardbase for this card is Naturals White, with the card insert either Crisp Cantaloupe or Wisteria Wonder cardstock.
The Flower Pot is cut with Sahara Sand {my new favourite!} cardstock with the “Berry Basket” Die, and then embossed with the “Decorative Dots” Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
The dirt is a strip of Soft Suede cardstock  ... it is all in the details!
As the Fringe Scissors were on a Weekly Deal that week, these were used to cut the two layers of grass {Garden Green cardstock}.

The ladies had a choice between orange toned flowers, which was a combo of Tangerine Tango and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock, or purple toned flowers, which was a combo of Wisteria Wonder with Elegant Eggplant cardstock.
Just about ALL the ladies chose the first option!
The flowers were stamped with the “Flower Shop” stamp set in Crisp Cantaloupe or Wisteria Wonder ink, then punched using the “Pansy” Punch.
The centre of the flowers are So Saffron cardstock, and I tried out my new Stampin’ Glitter in Gold – loved it so much I just had to order the Silver in!
The butterflies are stamped with the "Butterfly Basics" stamp set, then punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch, and layered, before 3 small Rhinestone Basic Jewels have been added to the centre of the butterflies.

The sentiment “just because” is stamped in Garden Green ink, and is from the stamp set “A Dozen Thoughts”.   This is the perfect sentiment, as it can carry a whole range of cards … thinking of you, birthday, bereavement, sickness, friendship etc.

For the card insert, the “Petite Petals” stamp set is stamped in either Crisp Cantaloupe or Wisteria Wonder ink, and a little flower from the “Itty Bitty Punch Pack” is punched  in the darker cardstock {Tangerine Tango or Elegant Eggplant}, and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel is placed in the centre.
The finishing touch is the “Confetti Heart Border” Punch which is featured as negative detail on the card insert.
Wah-lah … “Berry Basket Flower Pot” Card done!

Project 2 ”Punch Art Easter Berry Basket”

We also made an Easter Basket with the “Berry Basket” Bigz L Die, with a cute little bow, made with the “Bow Builder” Punch.
Easter is the perfect time to get out your Punches, and experiment with some Punch Art. To get some other great Punch Art ideas, check out Pinterest
This bunny is based on the Punch Art Easter Bunny I made last year …

I used a variety of Punches to create the Easter Bunny, 1” Circle, 2” Circle, Boho Blossoms, Extra-Large Oval, heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Large Oval, Owl Builder, Petite Petals, and “Circles Collection” Framelits.
The little bunny is holding a sign, stamped in Old Olive featuring the “Crazy About You” and “Perfect Pennants” stamp sets.
Wah-lah …”Punch Art Easter Berry Basket” done!

Easter April 2015

Last weekend, here in New Zealand we celebrated Easter.
What with 2 kids in their “tweens” (11 years old and 13 years old}, Easter treats are getting harder and harder each year!
I always make a point of the Easter Bunny leaving something they can hang onto and re-use in years to come, such as mugs, lego tins etc.
This year I found a giant Bunny, measuring  20” long, and his ears are a giant 9” long!

Project 1 “Chick-House”

I made some cute little bird/chick-houses with my Sizzix Milk Carton Die, I stamped them with the “Hardwood” stamp in Sahara Sand. I chose Naturals White cardstock for the houses, and Tangerine Tango (cut using the “Large Scallop” Edgelits} for the roof, as this matched back perfectly with the tiny little chocolate carrots wrapped in carrot coloured foil.
I punched a little window with the 1” circle Punch, and added a Window Sheet/Acetate. That way you could see the little carrots inside the house!
The finishing touch is a little chick, punched with the Bird Builder punch, and the little wing is punched using the heart from the “Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack”. Dazzling Details are added to the chicks wing, as the finishing touch.
Wah-lah … “Chick-House” done!

Project 1 ”Punch Art Easter Berry Basket”

I also made an Easter Basket with the “Berry Basket” Bigz L Die, with a cute little bow, made with the “Bow Builder” Punch.

When I Grow Up …

When I grow up, I want to be just like my amazing Mentor Jacque Williams ...

Jacque Williams

Jacque comes from Auckland once a month to teach classes, which we hold at my home.
Jacque classes are every third Tuesday, 1pm>3pm and again 7pm>9pm.
We make different projects in each class, and four times a years Jacque holds a Scrap-Booking Day here in Nelson.
Bookings are essential, so if interested in attending, please contact Jacque direct on mail@stamphappy.co.nz and Jacque's Blog "StampHappy" can be found here.

These are the projects that we made last week ...

Jacque's Day Class, we made these cute Easter Treat Boxes

Jacque's Day Class, we made this Watercolour Washi Tape Card

Jacque's Evening Class, gorgeous card featuring the "Wetlands" stamp set

Jacque's Evening Class, we made the xtra cute covered Journal, featuring the "Fresh Prints" designer Series paper Stack

I couldn't help but take this photo of Jacque’s Apron, displaying all her hard earned pins …

Jacque has been awarded the New Zealand Demonstrator of the Year And Achiever's Award 2008-2013, and in a couple of weeks is going on an all expenses paid Caribbean Cruise vacation courtesy of Stampin’ Up!

Just sayin’ …

AND btw ‘cause it’s Easter, I just had to make an Easter themed Yonanas Dessert …

Happy Easter …

Well ... we are now in the tail end of Cyclone Ita, and the Easter Bunny was able to make it through all that rain and wind to deliver chocolate goodies across the region!

Image via http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/

I stayed up late adding the final touches to Reilly and JorjaRose’s Easter treats.
The little Easter Boxes were case’d via Jacque Williams, but altered.
I changed the circle to a heart, and added personal tags to each Box.

#1 and #3 Jacque's version, #2 and #4 by Kathe

Easter Treat Box
To make the Treat Boxes, start with cardstock 6”x8 ½”.
Score at 2”, 4”, 6”, 8”
Turn 90 degrees, score at 2”

Cut the Circle or Heart using Punches or Framelits, I used the Heart from the “Hearts Collection” Framelits. I saved the cut out Heart for the Tag.
Assemble the Box and add the treats, for the closing add a 2”x 2 ½” piece of coordinating cardstock, use the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to add fancy edges at both ends,

                              Inside "JorjaRose's Easter Treat Chest"

Tape or Glue one edge to the box so that the child can get easy access to their treats. Close the box, punch 2 holes using the Crop-A-Dile, and add some decorative ribbon.

                                 "JorjaRose's Easter Treat Chest"

The Tag is made with the cut-out Heart, a second Heart cut from the “Hearts A Flutter” Framelits, and an initial is cut using the “Typeset Alphabet Bigz” dies, and then layered on Dimensionals, and tied with Bakers Twine.

Inside "Reilly's Easter Treat Chest"

The little chicks are made using the Bird Builder Punch, and then re-punching to “dock” their tails. Sponge with Daffodil Delight, the Small Heart Punch is used to create the cute little wing, which is then dipped in Dazzling Diamonds, and attached using Dimensionals.

                                    "Reilly's Easter Treat Chest"

The kiddies were xtra lucky this year, as they each got 2x Treat Boxes, as well as a Metal Case {which they can reuse to house their marbles, cars, barbies etc.} containing  8 hollow Easter Eggs, AND a Chocolate Maltesers Easter Bunny!!!

omg soooo yummy Maltesers Easter Bunny!!!

When I grow up, just sayin’ I am going to spoil my grandchildren{s}!!!
From one set of grandparents, the kids received a single hollow Easter Egg, and from the other set of grandparents, a hologram placemat.
Just sayin’ …

These Treat Gift Boxes can be made for any occasion, think Girlfriends, Wedding Favours, Party Favours, etc.
