“See Ya Later ... Alligator”

Reilly had a birthday party to go today, and being 12 {well he’s actually 12 going on 14 on Tuesday!!!}, the card needed to be “cool”, hence the Alligator from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set “See Ya Later” and the croc from the “Zoo Babies” stamp set seemed perfect.

My new stamp “Hardwood” has just arrived and I have used it in two projects today, I think it has now become my favourite!
Stamped in “Crumb Cake” on the front of the card, it gave a neat background to the snappy alligator!

I have seen many crafters replicate the alligator using the Petite Pennants Builder punch, so I can not give credit back to the original artist – sorry.
Punched in my favourite colour Old Olive, I also used the Old Olive to stamp the croc from the “Zoo Babies” stamp set, and the words “Yippee-Skippee” from you guessed it … the “Yippee-Skippee!” stamp set!
Now back to the croc, I gave it some googly eyes and gnashing teeth (in Whisper White) to make it seem more scary!

The birthday wishes are also from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set “See Ya Later”, and the Stampin’ Makers used are Old Olive, Tangerine Tango and Real Red.
Stamped on to Naturals White, and cut using the Chalk Talk Framelits, layered and adhered to Old Olive cardstock, and then dimensional’d.

A Candy Dot in Old Olive completes the card and anchors the corner.

On the inside of the card, and cut from Old Olive, I have used my favourite “Top Note” Bigz Die to make a pocket for the gift voucher, and added a Pin Wheel for added fun!

Also on the inside of the card and stamped in Crumb Cake is the “Gorgeous Grunge” stamp set.

So {hopefully} this card is totally grunge and way cool dude!!!

Get Well Soon Dad …

Sorry for the lack of entries of late, had a fright when my Dad collapsed at home, so have been a bit focused on that!
Dad was admitted to Hospital Friday {06.12.2013}, via ambulance, and was finally discharged late Monday night {9th December}.
I tell ya he looked a while lot better than he did on the Friday, after being hooked up to so many machines and watching him gasp for breath.
Would you believe this photo was taken the day before he collapsed, at his work place, he looks so happy and healthy!

Hard to believe the difference, just 24 hours later …
And this photo was taken on the Saturday, looking a lot better than he did on the Friday!

This is the Get Well Soon card that I made in a hurry when I took the kids in to visit him on Sunday.
I chose the "Chalk Talk" stamp set with the words "I'm So Grateful There's You In The World", as the wording had a double meaning.

Recipe Ingredient List
Stamp Sets: Chalk Talk, Flower Shop, Mixed Bunch, and Patterned Occasion (R)
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Tempting Turquoise
Framelits: Chalk Talk, Circle Card Thinlits Dies
Punch: Blossom, Pansy, Owl Builder
Embossing Folder: “Pretty Print Textured Impressions”

Special Tools: Big Shot, Venetian Romance DSP(My Digital Studio download), Stampin’ Trimmer

A Fancy Fold Card With A Halloween Twist

♥ this Halloween card, that can also be adapted to any theme.
I used the Black Embossing Powder to really make my stamping stand out.
Did you notice the {dangling in the centre of card} flattened Beer Bottle Top/Soda Pop Top? ... Just run it through your Big Shot/Cuttlebug (in other words squash it!)and you can add pictures to the insert.
On this occasion I have used my Crop-A-Dile to create a hole and threaded some ribbon through and tied it off on the card.
In the past I have made Earrings, Necklaces and Key Rings using Bottle Tops - ♥ em!
Did you see the Ghost? This is made using the Owl Builder Punch, but upside down and adding some googly eyes!
And the head of the Tombstone is made with the end of one of the Labels Collection Framelits - so cute, and this technique can also be used for making a Tag too.

The Bat is made by using the "Elegant Butterfly" Punch {picture 1) and then re-punching to clip the lower wings off!
You can make a smaller Bat by using the "Bitty Butterfly" Punch {picture 2}.
I found this xtra cute idea on Pinterest and I have case'd this idea and Tutorial from Kimberly Morris, image source and Blog details can be found here
