Easter Treats …

Easter Treats …
The Easter Bunny forgot to come in our household this year.
I totally forgot to lay the treats out Thursday night/Friday morning, my hubby said: “that’s okay, JorjaRose thinks the Easter Bunny comes Saturday night/Sunday morning” … thank goodness I’m saved!

Anyways Sunday rolled around, and or course I had forgotten again!!!
I saw the remnants of the treats that had been eaten, and asked JorjaRose about it …
She said: “Mum you were half asleep in bed, and I asked if I could deliver the goodies to Reilly and me!” She used her southern accent of course, and rolled the “R” in Reilly! My family comes from Gore, and she really has the Southern accent and rolls all the “R”’s!!!   It's so cute!

So now I think I have failed the 2016 Easter Bunny, but hop{e} to be back on top for Easter next year.
So this is what the Easter Bunny brought to our lovely home last year ...

And how cute is this wee Bunny from the year before {2014} …

From my family to yours wishing you a safe and Happy Easter!

“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 26th March 2015

This week we had Class on Tuesday 24th March 1pm>3pm, and on Thursday 26th March 1pm>3pm, and again 7pm>9pm.
We had 3 new ladies join us this week, and we had “such fun”!!!
AND … we do it all over again next week!

Our first project is a clean and elegant “Thank You Card with Emboss Resist”, featuring the “Lotus Blossom” stamp set, and the second project featured my new “Berry Basket” Die, and I took inspiration for the colours via my good friend Sally Rice ...

Project 1 “Thank You Card with Emboss Resist”

Techniques covered are Emboss Resist, Embossing, 3 Layer Stamping, Scoring with the "Simply Scored Scoring Tool", Die Cutting, Negative Detail, Punching {the ladies had a choice between the new “Ornate Tag Topper” Punch, the “Scalloped Tag Topper” Punch and the “Angled Tag Topper” Punch}, and layering with Dimensionals/Vellum, Cardstock.

Embellishments include the Pearl Basic Jewels, Rosette Trim from the Artisan Embellishment Kit, and Pink Pirouette Seam Binding Ribbon.
Stamp sets featured are “Painted Petals” and “Lotus Blossom”.

On the card insert, the “Lotus Blossom” is stamped in Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, and Blushing Bride stamped off once.   Followed by Clear Stampin’ Embossing Powder.

I have also designed a Gift Card Holder, using the “Top Note” Die, which is cut twice in Whisper White cardstock, the smaller section is stamped with the “Lotus Blossom” stamp.
Wah-lah … “Thank You Card with Emboss Resist” done!

Project 2 “Easter/Thank You Berry Basket”

The card base for this is Sahara Sand, with the side panels of the basket having an overlay of sponged “Irresistibly Yours” Specialty Designer Series Paper, in Soft Sky.

The flowers are in Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Island Indigo, and are cut using the “Spiral Flower Originals” Die. Love this colour combo, which is inspired by Sally Rice.

The little bows are in Island Indigo cardstock, are we used the cute little “Bow Builder” Punch a bunch of these bows!

The leaves that surround the flowers are Garden Green cardstock and cut with the “Flower Frenzy” Die.

For the Tag, which is Naturals White cardstock, and has the word “Happy” cut in Island Indigo cardstock with the “Hello You” Thinlits. And the word “Easter” is from the “Crazy About You” stamp set, and stamped in Island Indigo ink.

For the second Tag, I have cut the word “Thanks” with the “Hello You” Thinlits, and the wording “for all that you do” is from the “For Being You” stamp set.
The finishing touches are the flowers, punched with the “Petite Petals” punch, and secured with a Candy Dot Brad Base, and a pearl added from the Pearl Basic Jewels.

The ribbon is Lost Lagoon, and matched back perfectly with this colour scheme.
Tune in next week, when we use the “Berry Basket” Die again, this time to make a “Flower Pot Card”.

Wha-lah … “Easter/Thank You Berry Basket” done!

“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 13th March 2014

At Thursday’s “Create With Kathe” craft class, we had a new crafter attend, the lovely Bev.
It was like meeting a kindred spirit, and Bev was such a lovely lady, it felt like I had known her for ages!

We made three projects, all featuring the {FREE with qualifying purchase} Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper “Sweet Sorbet” …
First up was a decorated Mini Milk Bottle, with the “Spiral Flower Originals” Die and Petite Petals Punch, then an Envelope Pocket Wallet, that had four mini envelope pockets, to house such gorgeous things as gift vouchers, money, invitations, r.s.v.p. cards etc, and a cute card, featuring the “Springtime Hello” stamp set.

Decorated Mini Milk Bottle

With the Mimi Milk Bottle {purchased at The Warehouse for $2 each}, we got into a bit of difficulty with the glue gun not working properly, luckily I had a second GG on hand!!!
We cut 2 flowers from the ”Sweet Sorbet” DSP, using the “Spiral Flower Originals” then rolled up together and secured with some hot glue. Added to the centre was a cute little Petite Petals flower in contrasting cardstock and a Pearl to finish it off.
Artichoke Denim Jean Ribbon is tied in a bow around the bottle and secured with some hot glue, below that is a strip of cardstock with the fancy edging, cut with the “Finishing Touches Edgelits”.
The Spiral flower is hot glued just above the bow, and 2 “Flower Trim” flowers are hot clued in place on either side, and wah-lah, Mini milk Bottle is done!

Envelope Pocket Wallet {case'd via Sally Rice}

Cut 4 squares 6”x6” and make in to envelopes using the Stampin’ Envelope Punch Board.
Cut a strip 4 ¼’x 3.5” from the backing board that comes when you purchase Designer Series Paper, as this packaging cardboard that come fee in the packs, and is thicker and sturdier.
On the 3 ½ “ side, score at every ½ “, then fold to make a concertina file.
Use your Orange Sticky Tape, as this is very strong; to first adhere your outside envelope, then the other other envelopes in the valleys of the concertina, but facing towards the first envelope.
Tie some ribbon around the outside to help keep the envelopes all closed.
This is a really quick and easy project, and realistically can be made with just 1 sheet of DSP, as you get 4 squares/envelopes for each sheet of DSP.

“Springtime Hello” Card

Using Natural White Cardstock, emboss 2/3 with the Sale-A-Bration “Decorative Dots” embossing folder.
Make a banner, with the Banner punch, and stamp on to two of the banners in “Sahara Sand” with the Bee from the “Springtime Hello” stamp set.
Adhere to the top left of card with Dimensionals, and add a knotted Linen Thread to form the banner.
Stamped above the banner are the words “Hello Spring”, also in Sahara Sand,¸and add a contrasting Candy Dot to finish.
On a scrap of Naturals White Cardstock, stamp the long stemmed flowers in Sahara Sand, then fussy-cut around outside, adhere to a contrasting scrap of DSP, and mount on Dimensionals.
Punch a flower from the Petite Petal punch in contrasting DSP, and add a Pearl to the centre.
On the inside of the card, in Sahara Sand stamp the Thistle from the “Springtime Hello” stamp set.

“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 6th March 2014

Today was the first day back for my “Create With Kathe” craft classes.

We made three projects, a “3D Shoe”, made with the “Sweet Sorbet” DSP from the Sale-A-Bration promotion, a “Whittaker's Chocolate Holder”, made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, and a gorgeous “Shabby Chic Hardwood” card, featuring the Circle Card Thinlits dies …

Project 1 "3D Shoe”

I had actually forgotten that I had made a whole collection of these darling little shoes about 4 years ago, and when I went to my {shoddy} file system, found I still had the pattern on file, and it was laminated too!
Made with the beautiful {and FREE with qualifying purchase}“Sweet Sorbet” DSP from the Sale-A-Bration promotion, the “Spiral Flower Originals” Die and Petite Petals Punch.
This project which was quick and easy, yet looks quite stunning!

Project 2 “Whittaker's Chocolate Holder” {case’d from Sally}

Sally gave these out at a recent class as a thank you, as she was moving out of town, and I just had to recreate it!
Made using my new Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the “Petal Parade” and “You’re Lovely” SAB stamp sets.
Colours used are Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and my new favourite Sahara Sand.
Stamped on Naturals White, and finished with Pistachio Pudding Ruffle Stretch Trim and a sweet bow of Linen Thread.

Project 3 “Shabby Chic Hardwood Card” {case’d via Chantal De Kaste}

My new favourite stamp is the “Hardwood” stamp from the Seasonal catalogue, available through till 30 June 2014.
Stamps sets also used are “Petite Petals” {and matching Petite Petals Punch}, “Flower Shop” (and matching Pansy Punch}, “Mixed Bunch” {and matching Blossom Punch}, “That’s The Ticket” {and matching Ticket Duo Builder Punch}, and “You’re Lovely” from the Sale-A-Bration promo.
The fancy fold is made using the “Circle Card Thinlits” Dies, you get 10 different dies in this cute little pack!
The Bird Builder Punch is used for the leaves, and the veins are drawn on with the Old Olive Stampin’ Maker.
Classic Stampin’ Pads used are Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Strawberry Slushy, and Sahara Sand.
The stamp with the words “I think you're lovely” are coloured using the Melon Mambo, Old Olive, and Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Markers.
Candy Dots in Blushing Bride and a scattering of Rhinestones complete this gorgeous card.
This card was originally case’d via Chantal, but I have changed up the colours and some of the stamp sets and punches used.
