“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 28th August 2014

Saying goodbye to the “Festive Flurry” stamp set at Thursday’s “Create With Kathe” Class we made this xtra cute Spinning Snowflake card, featuring the Stampin’ Up! “Festive Flurry” stamp set and matching Framelits + “Mixed Bunch” and “White Christmas” stamp sets…

This card also features the “Emboss Resist” Technique and is sponged n Soft Sky and Crumb Cake.
The card-base is Pool Party, and the snowflake is heat embossed in Silver, on Whisper White cardstock.

One of the cute and new “All Is Calm Snowflake Embellishments” are added to the centre to the dimensionaled Snowflake and a Candy Dot Brad Bass is used to secure along with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
The inside of the card has a cute Christmas scene from the “White Christmas” stamp set and is stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Early Espresso, and Aqua Painters are used in “Pool Party” {for the car}, “Soft Suede” {for the trees},and “Pear Pizzazz” {for the Christmas Tree}, … way to cute!

Our second project was this cute little envelope card bursting with butterflies ...

The card-base is Soft Suede, which has bee embossed with the Ampersand embossing Folder.

The card-base is Soft Suede, which has bee embossed with the Ampersand embossing Folder.
The paper is used for the envelope is from the “All Abloom” Designers Paper Stack, and is cut 4”x4”.
The Envelope Punch Board is used to make the cute little envelopes. It took me 8 attempts to get the sizing right, as there is not a small enough size printed on the guide sheets.
Punch and score at 2 ¼”, second punch and score is at 1 3/4”
Third punch and score at 2 ¼”, and fourth punch and score is at 1 3/4”
For the Butterflies, I used scraps of Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock, and used the “Beautiful Wings” Embosslits Dies, which cuts and embosses the butterflies at the same time.
The Basic Rhinestone Jewels have been coloured with the Calypso Coral Blendabilities.

The Tag is stamped from the “Perfect Pennant” stamp set in Early Espresso on Naturals Ivory. Cut with the “Hearts A Flutter” Framelits, and a veil of Vellum is overlaid.
A hole is punched using the Crop-A-Dile, and Venetian Crochet Trim is tied off and a small safety pin attached.
The finishing touch is the Candy Dot in Calypso Coral, at the bottom right-hand corner, which anchors the project.
On the inside of the card, it is easier to see the effect of the Ampersand Embossing Folder.

And on the Insert which is Naturals Ivory, a scrap of cardstock left over from the “All Abloom” DSP Stack is punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.
An “Elegant Butterfly” is punched in scraps, and a Calypso Coral Butterfly is punched from the “Bitty Butterfly” Punch, and layered, with the coloured Basic Rhinestone Jewels added to the body of the butterfly.
The words stamps in Early Espresso are “The best thing about a person like you is that you bring out the best in everyone” is from the “World Of Dreams” stamp set.

Happy Easter …

Well ... we are now in the tail end of Cyclone Ita, and the Easter Bunny was able to make it through all that rain and wind to deliver chocolate goodies across the region!

Image via http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/

I stayed up late adding the final touches to Reilly and JorjaRose’s Easter treats.
The little Easter Boxes were case’d via Jacque Williams, but altered.
I changed the circle to a heart, and added personal tags to each Box.

#1 and #3 Jacque's version, #2 and #4 by Kathe

Easter Treat Box
To make the Treat Boxes, start with cardstock 6”x8 ½”.
Score at 2”, 4”, 6”, 8”
Turn 90 degrees, score at 2”

Cut the Circle or Heart using Punches or Framelits, I used the Heart from the “Hearts Collection” Framelits. I saved the cut out Heart for the Tag.
Assemble the Box and add the treats, for the closing add a 2”x 2 ½” piece of coordinating cardstock, use the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to add fancy edges at both ends,

                              Inside "JorjaRose's Easter Treat Chest"

Tape or Glue one edge to the box so that the child can get easy access to their treats. Close the box, punch 2 holes using the Crop-A-Dile, and add some decorative ribbon.

The Tag is made with the cut-out Heart, a second Heart cut from the “Hearts A Flutter” Framelits, and an initial is cut using the “Typeset Alphabet Bigz” dies, and then layered on Dimensionals, and tied with Bakers Twine.

The little chicks are made using the Bird Builder Punch, and then re-punching to “dock” their tails. Sponge with Daffodil Delight, the Small Heart Punch is used to create the cute little wing, which is then dipped in Dazzling Diamonds, and attached using Dimensionals.

The kiddies were xtra lucky this year, as they each got 2x Treat Boxes, as well as a Metal Case {which they can reuse to house their marbles, cars, barbies etc.} containing  8 hollow Easter Eggs, AND a Chocolate Maltesers Easter Bunny!!!

omg soooo yummy Maltesers Easter Bunny!!!

When I grow up, just sayin’ I am going to spoil my grandchildren{s}!!!
From one set of grandparents, the kids received a single hollow Easter Egg, and from the other set of grandparents, a hologram placemat.
Just sayin’ …

These Treat Gift Boxes can be made for any occasion, think Girlfriends, Wedding Favours, Party Favours, etc.
