Yonanas Kiwifruit, Pineapple, Grape and Blueberry Ice-Blocks

Janine from The Italian Kitchen has been cooking, or should that be freezing up a storm with her new Yonanas Frozen Dessert Maker.
Experimenting with taste and texture, this is one of her first yummy efforts “Kiwifruit, Pineapple, Grape and Blueberry“ Ice-Blocks, that Janine made for her lucky grandson.

Oh yum, can’t wait to try this combo out!

“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 3rd July 2014

Crikey where did the month go?!!!
Tuesday was the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue, and I can't help but add more items to my “Wish List”!
Unfortunately I squealed so loudly with excitement {for the new Catty} that I lost my voice for 3 days!!!
This weeks craft class, we had 2 new ladies attend, Lynn and Joy, which brought the class number to 5.
Both of Thursday’s cards feature the “Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies”, and are used in two different ways …

First up we did a Spinning Sliding Card, which is a c.a.s.e. of a card I saw in Jacque’s swaps, but sorry, I do not know who the original artist is.
The original was in Crisp Cantaloupe, but I went with either Coastal Cabana or Strawberry Slush ...

This card was a very good practise, as Monday night I am teaching this to the “Women Connecting” Craft Class, and there will be 35 ladies there!
I needed to know in advance if there would be any problems teaching this intricate card to such a number!
This card is all about the layering, and of course the 2x 10c pieces of real money!
Colours used are Coastal Cabana {or Strawberry Slush}, Crumb Cake and Naturals White, with stamp sets featured “Flower Shop”, “Something To Say” and “Wetlands”, and punches “Pansy”, “Word Window”.

The second card we made is a gorgeous shabby chic mason jar of butterflies, with the words “Live the life you've imagined” from the “Really Good Greetings” stamp set.
The mason jar is made using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies, and is cut in Vellum, and backed with Naturals White.
The butterflies that spill out of the jar were cut using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, which cuts and embossed at the same time, along with the “Papillon Potpourri” stamp set and matching “Bitty Butterfly” Punch.
The finishing touch is the Stampin’ Glitter “Dazzling Diamonds” on the butterflies’ wings.

The colours used in this card are Soft Suede, Naturals White and Marina Mist, which go so well together, and were an inspiration I drew on from a card that Jacque had made at her recent class her in Nelson.

Next week, we use the “Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies” again, this time to make a ship {from “The Open Sea” stamp set} in a bottle … stay tuned!

“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 26th June 2014

This weeks class we experimented with the new Blendabilities Pens.

The Blendabilities are sets of pens, 3 in a pack, that are all the same colour i.e. “Coastal Cabana”, but the pens are light, medium and dark {Coastal Cabana}.
They are perfect for colouring flowers and in this project was used to make the first card.
As the Blendabilities are alcohol-based markers, you can colour in the Rhinestones to make them match back with your project.
We coloured the first batch of Rhinestones in “Cherry Cobbler” for the little ladies hair, belt and the star centre on the Linen Thread Flower, and coloured the second batch of Rhinestones in “Rich Razzleberry” for the centre of the flowers.

Our first project was a cute greeting card, with a matching bookmark.
The ladies also learnt this week how to make the cute flower, made from Linen Thread.

The second project was an easy to replicate two toned card, in the new In Colour Blackberry Bliss verses Whisper White.

“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 19th June 2014

Happy Birthday Wayne O!
Thursday was my hubby’s 50th birthday, so I cancelled the evening class and had all the family around for a surprise party - he was very surprised, and is still mastering his new touch phone!
He realised when I was trying to tidy up after the afternoon class, and I was getting stressed, hence the Stampin’ Markers “Pick Up Stix”!

You see, the “Many Marvellous Markers” holds all 48 Stampin’ Markers, and they all have their very own spot/position in the case, and the whole lot fell over the table and on to the floor!
For Thursday’s class, we made a “Card In A Box”, and they turned out beautifully!
Bev made her using the “Watercolor Wonder” DSP and “Backyard Basics” stamp set and matching framelits …

Marion’s featured the “Watercolor Wonder” DSP and “Flower Shop” stamp set and matching Pansy punch, with a butterfly and bird or two from the “Backyard Basics” set …

The card base is Crumb Cake, and the accent colour is Calypso Coral and Island Indigo.
The “Backyard Basics” are stamped in StazOn Black, and hand coloured using the Aqua Painted and many different Ink Pads!
Marion stamped the flowers from the “Flower Shop” stamp set in Calypso Coral, Tangerine Tango and Hello Honey.

I made up a sample before class …

And made an alternate version using the same DSP, but with the Island Indigo as the accent …

Amazing how the same pack of gorgeous “Watercolor Wonder” Designer Series Paper can make the card look so different in each of the cards made.
The Stampin’ Up! products featured {“Watercolor Wonder” DSP, “Backyard Basics” stamp set and matching framelits} are only available till 30 June, so get in quick and place your order!

It is nearly time for the new annual catalogue to be launched and you have LESS than a week to make the most of the offers and items on the retiring list!

Once Tuesday 1st July comes around, the items on the retiring list will no longer be available!
The current Summer/Autumn Occasionals catalogue also finishes on 30th June, limited items are carrying over to the new annual catalogue but most items are not so don’t wait until its too late!
My next order will be placed Thursday 26th June!
