“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 5th March 2015

We had fun learning new technique this week called “Braiding” or "Braided".
After spotting a very fancy card on Pinterest by Brandy Cox, I watched her fab Tutorial on her Blog, of course I added the “Kathe” twist and altered it up.
Our second card is a very fun card featuring my new stamp set “From The Herd”.

This weeks tempting display!

Project 1”Braided ‘Butterflies Basics’ + ‘From the Garden’”
My order had just arrived in, and I thought “Always Artichoke” would be the perfect colour as the base layer {8x5,½”}.
Strawberry Slush cardstock has been embossed with the “Fancy Fan" TIEF.
The stem of flowers had been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, then coloured using Aqua Painters and Blender Pens, with Blushing Bride, Garden Green, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Strawberry Slush ink pads.

Once colouring has been completed, the stem and flowers are then fussy cut.
The sentiment “Sending Wishes Your way” is from the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set, and is stamped in Always Artichoke on Vellum. If you look very closely, there is an under-layer of Blushing Bride cardstock which has been stamped with the butterfly from the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set, in half strength {stamped off once} Strawberry Slush.
The Vellum panel over top, give a very subtle effect. The finishing touch to the sentiment are three small Pearls.
The other sentiment “Fresh Picked For You Best Buds” is from the “From The Garden” {yes, I did write that tongue twister!} stamp set and is stamped in Always Artichoke on Blushing Bride cardstock, which is then cut using the “Handpicked” Framelits, sponged with Crumb Cake and a Pearl added to the corner.

The butterflies are also from the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set, are stamped in Strawberry Slush {stamped off once} on to Blushing Bride cardstock
The butterflies are then punched using the “Bitty Butterfly” Punch. The bigger butterflies are punched using the “Elegant Butterfly” Punch, then sponged in Crumb Cake. The butterflies are layered together and the finished tough are 3 small Pearls.
Once the front panel has been assembled and layered using Stampin’ Dimensionals, the finishing touch is a scrap of Venetian Crochet Trim which is tied in a knot around the bottom of the Braid.

The card insert is is Blushing Bride cardstock, that features negative detail, by using the “Chevron Border” Punch.
The sentiment “Happy Birthday” is from the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set, and is stamped in Always Artichoke.
Another cute butterfly is placed at the lower right hand corner of the card inset, and the finishing touch is another scrap of Venetian Crochet Trim.
Wah-lah … “Braided ‘Butterflies Basics’ + ‘From the Garden’” done!

Project 2 “From The Herd”
As the “Label Love” stamp set, “Artisan Label” Punch and Fringe Scissors were on this weeks “Weekly Deals”, I decided to incorporate them all in to this cute and fun card …
The card base for the card is Soft Suede {8”x5,½”}, with a panel of Marina Mist {3,7/8”x5,3/8”} added, which resembles the sky nicely.

The animals are from the “From the Herd” {yes, I did say that again!} stamp set, and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the corresponding cardstock : Goat and Lama – Smokey Slate, Pig – Blushing Bride, Ox – Soft Suede, Chicken – So Saffron, and Bird – Real Red.
The animals are then all fussy card, and then adhered back into their original place, I cut an xtra piggy and adhered his head with Stampin’ DImensionals.
The fence is Crumb Cake cardstock which has been stamped with the “Hardwood” stamp set in Versamark and Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder has been sprinkled on, then heat set with the Heat Tool.

I used the Triangle Punch to form the heads of the posts, and the Crop-A-Dile + Glue Dots for the nail/knot joins in the fence.
The grass is Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz cardstock which as been cut wit the Fringe Scissors.
The petals are punched using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, with tiny Rhinestones added to their centres, that have been coloured with the Pink Pirouette Blendabilities.
The sentiment “To the best friend I’ve ever had” is from the “Label Love” stamp set, and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on to Vellum, and punched using the “Artisan Label” Punch.
The sun is from the {vintage}“Life’s A Beach” stamp set, and is stamped in Daffodil Delight, and has Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter, adhered with my 2-Way Glue Pen.

For the card insert, Naturals Ivory cardstock has the same animal image stamped, with little party hats added, which have Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter on them.
The sentiment “Happy Birthday” is also from the “From The Herd” {YUP!!!} stamp set, and is stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, which has been cut with the “Word Bubbles” Framelits, and then sponged with Crumb Cake.

For the Tab, I used the “Artisan Label” punch again, with a scrap of Soft Suede cardstock and wrapped is around the top left corner of the card insert, then added a tiny nail/knot to finish.
Wah-lah … “From The Herd” Card done!
