"Card Off Challenge": With Jen On Thursday 18.02.2016

So excited that Jen and I had time for anther “Card Off Challenge”.
The card I had created was featured in my “Create With Kathe” Class week.
So as I taught my Class, Jen tweaked the card, but still used the same base of Stampin’ Up! products.
I always love to see the outcome of Jen’s tweaking, as she is a master of colour!
As you can see from the two cards, the original was Portrait, and Jen’s switched hers up to Landscape
The stamp sets featured are “Birthday Blooms” and “Timeless Elegance”, these two are my absolute favourites from the new Occasions Catalogue.
The pretty flower on the original card was is soft tones of Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Mint Macaroon and Pear Pizzazz.
Jen’s flower was in deepening colours, perhaps with a touch of Rich Razzleberry, and she coloured the background of the flower, by adding a wash of Tempting Turquoise.
Both cards have faux stitching, created using the “Updated Essentials” Paper Piercing Pack, and the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker.
If you look super close at the “Sahara Sand” layer, you will also find heaps of stamping using the “Timeless Textures” stamp set and Soft Suede and Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pads.
Jen’s card was framed in Blackberry Bliss and a cute sparkly embellishment added to the top right-hand corner, and some gorgeous pleated ruffled ribbon {Venetian Crochet Trim and Seam Binding}.
I always love a touch of shabby chic, so in my card I added a Doily, fabric rose, ruffled ribbon {Venetian Crochet Trim and Seam Binding}, and a beautiful Brad, from the “Antique Brads” collection.
At the end of the day {or night as it had become}, it was a draw!!!

"Create With Kathe" Craft Class For Thursday 9th April 2015

At this weeks "Create With Kathe" Craft Class, we made a shabby chic feminine card with the "Moon Lake" stamp set, and a masculine card featuring the "Guy Greetings" and "By The Tide" stamp sets.
We will be re-making these gorgeous cards at my RE# Class on Wednesday evening, bookings essential!

Project 1 Shabby Chic “Moon Lake” Card

The cardbase for this card is Soft Suede, with an overlay of Sahara Sand cardstock, which has been faux-stitched with the “Essentials” Paper Piercing Pack, Stampin’ Pierce Mat, and Paper-Piercing Tool. The faux-stitch line is then connected with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Marker. And  finally sponged with Sahara Sand ink.

Faux-stitched, this time in a xx pattern has been used on a small square of “Stacked With Love” Designer Series Paper Stack, and adhered behind the rolled corner of the Sahara Sand cardstock. The roll is created by using a cocktail skewer. A gorgeous vintage rosette is then placed in the corner.
Pink Pirouette cardstock has been stamped with the “Something Lacy” background stamp in Pink Pirouette. The edges have the cardstock have been distressed using my Paper Snips, then sponged with Sahara Sand ink.

Watercolour Paper has been stamped in Black StazOn with the bird stamp from the “Moon Lake” stamp set. Using the Aqua Painters and various inks: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Soft Suede and Early Espresso Stampin’ Marker, the image has been coloured, and the Soft Sky has been used to illuminate the image. The cardstock has then been distressed, and sponged with Sahara Sand ink. Three small Pearl Basic Jewels have been added the watercoloured panel – ‘tis all in the details!
The sentiment “Happy Birthday” is from the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set, and is stamped in Early Espresso ink.

Some gorgeous Sahara Sand Lace Trim is adhered to the Pink Pirouette panel, and some Linen Thread is tied with bow, cinching the middle of the Lace Trim.
The Pink Pirouette panel is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, all other panels are adhered with tape or glue.

For the card insert, Naturals White cardstock is stamped with the same “Happy Birthday” sentiment in Early Espresso ink.

A scrap of Tea Lace Paper Doily is placed behind a strip of stamped Pink Pirouette cardstock {again stamped with the “Something Lacy” background stamp set in Pink Pirouette on Pink Pirouette}, which has been punched using the “Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border” Punch.
Some Linen Thread is threaded through the small punched holes and a tiny bow added – again ‘tis all in the details!
Some interpretations of the birds by a couple of my afternoon ladies ...

Wah-lah … Shabby Chic “Moon Lake” Card done!

Project 2 Masculine “Guy Greetings” + “By the Tide” Card

The cardbase for this card is Pool Party, with an overlay of Pacific Point cardstock.
Whisper White cardstock has been scored with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, 1/8” in on all sides.
The sentiment “World’s Greatest” is stamped in Pacific Point ink.
The pond is an interpretation of a Pin I saw on Pinterest by Janine Tinklenberg
The fish are from the “By The Tide” stamp set, and are stamped in Black StazOn onto Watercolour Paper.
They are then coloured with Aqua Painters and Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise inks. The eyes are enhanced with an extra-fine Sharpie in Black and the Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen in White.
The fish are then fussy-cut, then tied with Linen Thread, and attached to the fishing pole which is cocktail skewer.
Some of the ladies cut their pool, to allow the fish to do their thang!

The finishing touch on the fish is the use of the Dazzling Details, which makes the fish look like they have real scales!
The Whisper White panel is adhered to the Pacific Point panel with tape/glue.
The Pacific Point panel is adhered to the base-card of Pool Party with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the card insert, Whisper White cardstock has been punched with the “Spiral Border” Punch.
The sentiments “Happy Father’s Day” or “Happy Birthday” are stamped in Pacific Point ink, and are both from the “Guy Greetings” stamp set.

On the lower right-hand corner, the anchor stamp from the “By The Tide” stamp set is stamped in Pacific Point, on to Whisper White cardstock, then punched using the 1” Circle Punch, then adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I love how my crafty ladies can interpret my designs and make them their own, I have selected a few of the cards made by the ladies, and ALL the fish are doing totally different things!

The cardbase for all three cards featured is Shara Sand.

The little flower is layers of sponged "Irresistibly Yours” Specialty Designer Series Paper, secured with a Cady Dot Brad Base.

For the card insert, I have cut the same "happy", added the word "BIRTHDAY" in Garden Green, from the “Crazy About You” stamp set, and added a bird, punched using the Bird Builder Punch.

For the second and third cards, they have an overlay of newsprint which has been faux stitched, with a little flower peeking out the top right corner.

The bird cages are in Soft Sky cardstock, the and the birds are from the "All Abloom" Designer Series Paper Stacks.

“Create With Kathe” for Thursday 19th February 2015

#CreateWithKathe #JorjaRoseFiles

This week we had so much fun making two gorgeous, but very different cards.
The first is a "Pop Out Swing Card", based on the card I made for Valentine’s Day.
The second card we made was a Parisian Shabby Chic Card, showcasing my new MFT “Bicycle” Die ...

Project 1 “Pop Out Swing Card”
Based on my Valentine Card, the ladies were able to choose their own sentiment from the “Crazy About You” stamp set, and matching die cut words from the “Hello You” Thinlits.

“You make me happy”

“Thinking of you”

For all the construction details, please head on over to my original Post, which can be found here

“Crazy about you”

I took on Jill’s advice for this last card and made panel slight longer, so that it sat over the square cut, so it was more obvious to the recipient to pull/swing the card open.   Thanks Jill for your suggestion ...

“Just sayin’ happy birthday”

This last card was made for a little friend turning 5 years old. I added in the swing, as it looks so cute and childish.
Wah-lah …”Pop Out Swing Card” done {again}!

Project 2 “Parisian Shabby Chic Card”

I had so much fun designing this card, which was based on a couple of watches I purchased earlier this week, can’t wait till they arrive!

The card-base is Naturals Ivory, measuring 8” x 5, ½”, folded in half, finished size is 4" x 5, ½”.
The “Post Card” stamp is inked up with Soft Suede, and stamped on to another piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock.
Stamps from the “Artistic Etchings”, “Painted Petals” and “Sheltering Tree” are stamped in Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Strawberry Slush, and Momento Tuxedo Black.
The Post Card is then cut to size using the Stampin’ Trimmer.
Four strands of the Wild Wasabi “Painted Blooms Cotton Twine” are combined with two lengths of Linen Thread, which are twisted together, then wrapped around the “Post Card” panel and adhered.   Combining the same 4+2 recipe, some more Wild Wasabi {PBCT} and Linen Thread are tied in a bow and adhered.
The bicycle is cut in Basic Black cardstock using the MFT “Bicycle” Die, and adhered using 2-Way Glue Pen.
The sentiment “You've got courage, you've got strength.” is from the “Something To Say” stamp set, and is stamped in Soft Suede, and cut using the “Word Bubbles” Framelits.
The cute little heart is also from the “Something To Say” stamp set, and is stamped in Strawberry Slush and punched with the little heart from the “Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack”.
Both of these are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and finally the "Post Card" is also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card-base.
The finishing touch are the small Pearls, from the Pearl Basic Jewels, which are added to the flowers, the heart and 3 little Pearls on the left side of the card.

For the card insert, as the cardstock is Naturals Ivory and quite thick, I was able to stamp/decorate straight onto the cardstock, without needing to add another panel/layer.
Strawberry Slush blooms are stamped from the “Painted Petals” stamp set, with little Pearls added to the centre of each bloom.
The Eiffel Tower {from the "Artistic Etchings" stamp set} is stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black, as it gives a nice clean finish.
Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter is added to the Eiffel Tower with 2-Way Glue Pen.
For the sentiment “You are amazingly amazing” is stamped in Early Espresso onto Vellum.
The sentiment is layered with another piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock that has been stamped with blooms in Strawberry Slush, which peak out from under the Vellum.
Both the Vellum sentiment and the stamped blooms {on Natural Ivory cardstock} are punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, and then Venetian Crochet Trim is looped and threaded through, knotted and stapled with the Mini Handheld Stapler. The "Project Life Corner" Punch is used to round the corners of the Tag.
The finishing touch are the three small Pearls that have been coloured with Pink Pirouette Blendabilities.
Wah-lah … ‘Parisian Shabby Chic Card” done!
