Thank You Card By Reilly {and Moi!} ...

We have some lovely neighbours, that had a surplus-to-requirements bike, and they kindly thought of our son Reilly.
Reilly is now whizzing around the neighbourhood on his new bike, and is even leaving for school on time!
This is a wee “Thank-You” card that Reilly and I made.
For this first time he used my Big Shot “Betsy The Beast”, I also have an second Big Shot that we use in Class, called “JorjaRose”!
What with a Bicycle being involved in this very generous gift, I chose to centre the card around a Penny Farthing, with a vintage shabby chic theme.
I tried a new idea out on this card, I placed the Antique Brad through the Very Vintage Designer Button, and I love how it turned how out.

Happy craftin',

“Vintage Dress Up Tri-Fold Card”

I was as asked by a friend to make a 50th Birthday card, and the brief was “Vintage Dress Forms”.
I went back to my favourite “Dress Up” Framelits and got to work.
The base of the card was “Blushing Bride” from the Subtles Collection.
The overlaid card was Naturals White, which has been embossed with the “Modern Mosaic” Embossing Folder, then sponged with Crumb Cake.

I love the vintage vibe of the “Twitterpated” Designer Paper Series, available on My Digital Studio download, so this DSP, along with the “Tea for Two” DSP was used on the dress forms and on the tea cup.

The embellishments really finished the card off, what with the Pearls (Pearl Basic Jewels) for the necklaces and the Antique Brad and the Flower Trim (R) + the Candy Dots Brights in “Old Olive”.

The wording on the front of the card seemed very appropriate “carbs, schmarbs! {eat the cake}” from the Yippee-Skippee!” stamp set.

And on the inside of the card “I think you are amazing Just wanna let you know” from the “Lovely Romance” stamp set.
I used my Stampin’ Makers in Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, and Old Olive to colour in the words.

For a vintage and muted tone, Stampin’ Up! Ink pads used are Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.

The jacket on the second dress is made from a paint sample card/chip from our local DIY shop.
Whenever I go in there I grab a whole swag of colours and use them for all sorts of exciting projects!

This card was case’d and adapted from a card I made in class taken by Jacque Williams a couple of years ago, but I changed it up a tad, and added and the panel with the tea cup and tea bag – yes that is a real tea bag and it is Peppermint, so gives the card an extra special aroma!

The "Finishing Touches Edgelits" finished off the bottom of this last page on my "Vintage Dress Up Tri-Fold Card"!

I am sure Tanya and her friend will be super delighted with this unique handmade card!

“Burlap and Blooms” Simply Created Wreath Kit Class ...

Yesterday the “Crafty Wenches” got together for a craft off!
Sally’s craft class is called the “Crafty Wenches” and we get together every fortnight. Usually Sally, has between 4 and 10 crafters attend, and yesterday we had mother/daughter team Liz and Sophie, Anne and myself.
Monday's theme was the new “Burlap and Blooms” Simply Created Wreath Kit {NZ$35.95 #133333}, and to be fair you need to allow 3 hours for this gorgeous project ...

The Kit comes complete with everything you need provided; however I did add a couple of gorgeous butterflies to my Wreath from the “Papillon Potpourri” stamp set.
My favourite part was putting together the fringe flowers, these are genius, and so easy to replicate, with some DSP and the new Fringe Scissors {NZ$19.95 #133325}.
The wrapping of the Burlap around the flattened Wreath is very therapeutic, and quite easy to create such a stunning rustic/shabby chic piece of art.
I love the way that you can {carefully} remove the flowers to change up the Wreath for any season or any occasion … think Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Easter …

Here are some step-by step photos I took {one handed!!!}...

This Simply Created Wreath Kit has recently been released, in the new “Celebrate The Everyday” Occasions Brochure, available 28.01.2014 till 30.06.2014

The only downside of making this gorgeous Wreath, is that I burnt my fingers terribly with the HOT glue gun!!!

If you look closely at the Wreaths made by the ladies, you will see they have added their own individual touches ... can you spot the Dragonflies, Pearls, Rhinestones and Decorative Leaves?
♥ that we each started out with the same Kit, yet each of our projects turned out so differently!

I hope you have as much fun making your "Burlap and Blooms" Wreath as we did!
