Card Off With Jen, Card In A Box and Fancy Fold Card

When is comes to craftin', you can never have too much happy!

Last night, well early this morning {we finished at 1.30am!!!); Jen and I had a card off!

Our first project was a “Card In A Box”, with Jen’s creation to be shown as soon as my Stampin’ Up! order arrives.

You see, Jen purchased the “Backyard Basics” Bundle set {shhh shhh – hush hush!!!}, which consists of the Backyard Basics stamp set and matching framelits.

Jen made the box of her card, but wants to use this stamp set to compete it.

On the other hand, my card In a Box is ready to be shown!

Card In A Box by Kathe Oldham

I used the gorgeous “Tea For Two” Designer Series Paper, available on My Digital Studio download, and also in the Clearance Rack at the moment for only NZ$4.69

I also used the gorgeous “Flower Shop” stamp set and matching Pansy Punch. “Papillion Potpourri” stamp set and matching Butterfly Punch.

I stamped the 6 butterflies in Black StazOn Ink + used Blender Pens in to colour and blend the beautiful wings of the butterflies in Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo and Strawberry Slushy.

The sentiment on the back of the card is coloured with “Old Olive” and “Melon Mambo” Stampin’ Markers, and stamped from the “Yippee-Skippee!” stamp set.

I punched the leaves from the Bird Builder Punch, and hand drew the veins of the leaves on with the Old Olive Stampin’ Maker.

Black and White Fancy Fold Card by Jen Hassloch

Whilst I completed my Card In A Box, Jen created this gorgeous card using a hybrid of products.

Jen truly masters the art of thinking outside the box {no pun intended!!!}.

Jen stamped on coloured cardstock with Versamark, and heat-set Black Embossing Powder, and then added a multiple of colours using the Blender Pens, to create dimensionalised flowers that popped from her black and white fancy fold card.

Jen used the gorgeous “Flower Shop” stamp set and matching Pansy Punch, + the “Mixed Bunch” stamp set and the Blossom Punch AND the Chevron Border Punch.

The special sentiment on the inside of the card that says “You can never have too much happy” is from the “Yippee-Skippee!” stamp set, and is coloured with “Old Olive” and “Melon Mambo” Stampin’ Markers.

These businesses that take your/our money, and give us gift vouchers, and do not front up with the goods and/or $s is crap!!!

Regarding: Pezzycard 4693 9600 0240 0389

My son received the above Prezzycard in the mail for his birthday, from an Uncle in Wellington.

When we went to use at at The Warehouse in Nelson, they would not accept it as payment, as "we did not know the Pin number".

I have since discovered that the card has now expired.

We are requesting a new card be issued for the exact same $ amount, or funds of the same $ value to be deposited into my Kiwibank account

This practice of forfeiting the money as advised by Regan in Customer Service - is not acceptable.

Their response:

Thank you for the time taken to discuss your concerns around the expiration of your Prezzy card.
We are sorry to hear you were unable to use the funds on the card prior to expiration however we are unable to extend the expiry date or reactivate your card.
Prezzy cards are valid for a minimum of 12 months with the expiry date being printed on the front of the card. Prezzy cards work much like many gift vouchers
- Once the card has expired any unused funds are automatically forfeit.
Prezzy card terms and conditions state;
1. Expiry: Your card can’t be used after the expiry date printed on the front of the card. Unused value remaining on expiry will automatically be forfeited.

Card In A Box - Backyard Basics

On Monday night, the Crafty Wenches got together for another Craft Off!

Sally had 8 ladies attend, and our project was the “Card In A Box”.

Having made this the day before using the “Flower Shop” stamp set and Pansy punch, entitled "Card In a Box - Flowers", I was at a slight advantage to the other crafty ladies!

Folded flat, the card fits in a standard C6 envelope.

Sally showed us a nifty trick, that only folding the sides down on 2 of the flaps, when the {lucky} recipient opens the envelope, they are surprised by all the colours and dimensions on this gorgeous card… 

 

And with all sides folded...

We used the “Backyard Basics” stamp set and matching Framelits.

Stamped with Black StazOn Ink, and hand coloured using Blender Pens.

 

The cardstock is Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Whisper White, with the gorgeous Sale-A-Bration “Sweet Sorbet” Designer Series Paper.

Happy Birthday Reilly!

   

Well it hardly seems like 12 years ago that our son Reilly was born!

Reilly was an unplanned home-birth, and he was delivered on {clean!} rubbish bags!

He has only just recently learnt the details of his arrival!

I made this card last night at Sally’s “Crafty Wenches” class.

It features the new Designer Series Paper “Watercolour Wonder”, and the new Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

I matched back the gift voucher from us to Reilly, for $50 towards an iPad or similar, with the same Watercolour Wonder DSP, and created it using the My Digital Studio programme.

After dinner, we cut into this gorgeous birthday cake, made by Jen {with a little help from myself!!!}.

We made it in the ThermoMix, and decorated it with 2 bags of M&Ms and 2 packets of chocolate fingers!

Although today was Reilly’s actual birthday, he is having a pool party with his mates and cousins on the weekend.

Now I best get creating with My Digital Studio and design the birthday invitations!

“Vintage Dress Up Tri-Fold Card”

I was as asked by a friend to make a 50^th Birthday card, and the brief was “Vintage Dress Forms”.

I went back to my favourite “Dress Up” Framelits and got to work.

The base of the card was “Blushing Bride” from the Subtles Collection.

The overlaid card was Naturals White, which has been embossed with the “Modern Mosaic” Embossing Folder, then sponged with Crumb Cake.

I love the vintage vibe of the “Twitterpated” Designer Paper Series, available on My Digital Studio download, so this DSP, along with the “Tea for Two” DSP was used on the dress forms and on the tea cup.

The embellishments really finished the card off, what with the Pearls (Pearl Basic Jewels) for the necklaces and the Antique Brad and the Flower Trim (R) + the Candy Dots Brights in “Old Olive”.

 The wording on the front of the card seemed very appropriate “carbs, schmarbs! {eat the cake}” from the “Yippee-Skippee!” stamp set.

And on the inside of the card “I think you are amazing Just wanna let you know” from the “Lovely Romance” stamp set.

I used my Stampin’ Makers in Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, and Old Olive to colour in the words.

For a vintage and muted tone, Stampin’ Up! Ink pads used are Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.

The jacket on the second dress is made from a paint sample card/chip from our local DIY shop.

Whenever I go in there I grab a whole swag of colours and use them for all sorts of exciting projects!

This card was case’d and adapted from a card I made in class taken by Jacque Williams a couple of years ago, but I changed it up a tad, and added and the panel with the tea cup and tea bag – yes that is a real tea bag and it is Peppermint, so gives the card an extra special aroma!

The "Finishing Touches Edgelits" finished off the bottom of this last page on my "Vintage Dress Up Tri-Fold Card"!

I am sure Tanya and her friend will be super delighted with this unique handmade card!
