Sally and Kathe’s Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peak Launch

Well, I have finally downloaded the photos from our Catty Launch, back on Sunday 31St May!
We had an amazing afternoon of fun and laughter, and we, along with our guests really enjoyed the afternoon.

At each place setting, there was a new catty, along with a handmade paper-crafted gift from Sally, and a 3”x3” card {cased via Glenda Calkins from “The Stamp Camp”} in the new In Colours, along with a bookmark {cased via Erica B. Cerwin from “PinkBuckaroo Designs”}, showing ALL the new In Colours, made via moi.

As each guest arrived, they were given a lucky number (made with my Ornate Tag Topper Punch and Perforating Blade}, as we had a Prize Patrol table, lined up with 27 gifts!
That meant each guest also went home with a prize, and 7 lucky ladies received a second prize from the table. There were stamp sets, ink pads, Stampin’ Write Markers, a Stampin’ Scrub + many other goodies on the table.

Sally and I had a display table {whoopsee – forgot to take a photo!} of samples, Sally concentrated on samples made with the new Gift Bag Punch Board, and I concentrated on samples using the new In Colours.

We split the guests into two groups and we both taught our project, Sally taught her gorgeous Gift Bag, using the NEW Gift Bag Punch Board, and I taught a card, that had a bookmark attached {again using my Perforating Blade}.

We then took a wee break for some yummy afternoon tea.
Sally made an amazing two layered cake and decorated it as a wedding cake, a two of our guests {who just happened to be sisters} were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary!

We then cracked on and switched the groups up and re-taught our projects.

We all had a really lovely afternoon, and met some new friends, and can't wait to do it all over again!

Thanks for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.

Happy craftin’

Kathe.

“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 29th May 2014

Thursday’s “Create With Kathe” Craft Class, we had a newbie attend the evening class, Sharon {and my bestie Jen}, and at the day class we had Bev, Kay, Lizzy, and Marion attend.
Lizzy made some yummy chocolate muffins, which went down a treat, along with the Sour Worms {btw these are lollies!!!}!
The first card we made is a c.a.s.e. by my very good friend Sally, Sally had a guest post here on my Blog, when she first made this gorgeous card.

{Sally's "Springtime Hello" Card}

Sally made this gorgeous card for a Swap, and features the “Springtime Hello” stamp set and the Painters Tape technique.

{My version of Sally's "Springtime Hello" Card}

{Sally's card is on the left, mine is on the right}

Our next project was a warm up to the finale …we made two cute 3”x3” cards {in Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush}, and features the “Zoo Babies” stamp set and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, along with the retiring Ruffle Stretch Trim {which is my fav}.

Our finale was this Shaker Card, featuring the “By The Tide” and “By The Seashore” stamp sets.

The Sailors Knot was a bit of a challenge, but I found an easy step by step tutorial here

For the Shaker, I used a card cellophane bag and filled it with Chunky Glitter and the sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim.

I love the way the fish looks like it is swimming through the coral and the glitter.

In other news …

Woop woop … the NEW Stampin’ Up! catty is on it’s way and should be with me on Thursday … can’t wait!

To pre-order yours for $5 {+ postage}, contact me NOW to add you to the Catty List.

My VERY First Work Shop …

Yesterday I had the great privilege of being the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator at my friends Margarette’s Stampin’ Up! Workshop!
This was my VERY first Work Shop, and my very good friend Sally came along and helped me {immensely}.
Sally travelled all the way from St Arnaud, which was 74.4km away!!!
I am truly blessed to count Sally as one of my friends.

I did a couple of simple demonstrations, including how to make this cute little baby card in less than 90 seconds ...

This little 3"x3" card features the "Zoo Babies" stamp set, Ruffle Stretch Trim and "Decorative Dots" Embossing folder.

For the “Make and Take”, I case’d a card designed by Mentor Jacque Williams, which featured the “Wetlands” stamp set and the Painters Tape technique.

The “Wetlands” stamp set is the perfect stamp set to purchase, as it can be used for a masculine card, birthday or bereavement, and is such a versatile stamp set.
As the group was quite large we had 15 ladies attend, we split the group in two, whilst half had a lovely afternoon tea, made by Margarette in The Sellers Room kitchen, while the half made their “Make and Take” card,  and then visa-versa.
All in all it was a fabulous afternoon, and the time flew by.
As a Hostess, Margarette received $90 worth of Stampin' Up! products of her choice, as her sales from her Work Shop were just over $550.
Margarette chose the "Festive Flurry" Bundle, which comprises of the "Festive Flurry" Clear Mount stamp set and matching Framelits.

can't wait to meet these lovely ladies again sometime some, maybe even at one of my weekly “Create With Kathe” craft classes!

To view a step by step on how to make this card, please view my Post here.
