Quilt Card : For Mother’s Day

Well … today in New Zealand we celebrated Mother’s Day.
I made this little number for my Mom-In-Law Nola, whom I adore …

This is the first time I have made a Quilt Card, and it turned out not too shabby {pun intended}!!!

The card base is Naturals White, and the “quilted” cardstock featured is “Tea For Two” Designer Series Paper, available on the Clearance Rack.
The Embossing Folder is the “Square Lattice” Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
The teacup is from the “Tea Shoppe” stamp set, available on My Digital Studio Download. It is in my favourite colour of Old Olive, and fussy cut, then adhered to the Quilt, leaving an opening at the top for the teabag and sentiment note to slip in.
The sentiment is from the “Chalk Talk” stamp set, and is Pear Pizzazz, and the words “I’m so grateful there is you in the world” is hand coloured with Stampin’ markers in Pacific Point and Early Espresso. Layered on Dimensionals, and then stapled to the teabag – yes that is a real teabag and Nola loved it!
Inside the card, the teacups are coloured with Stampin’ Markers L-R Pacific Point, Early Espresso and Old Olive.

The wording “for everything you are to me” is stamped in Old Olive and from the “Petite Pairs” stamp set.
Although I don’t {yet} possess a stamp set with the wording for “Happy Mother’s Day” the wording from these two stamps sets seemed perfect for my Nola!

Quilt Card … done!

“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 8th May 2014

Thursday’s Class was all about colour “Blue”, with Marina Mist and Pacific Point makin’ an appearance!!!
In attendance we had Bev, Kay, Lizzy, Lucy and Marion.
We made two projects, a "Spinning Circle Slider" card and a gorgeous card featuring the Stampin' Up! "Mosaic" trilogy of products, the "Mosaic Madness" stamp set, "Mosaic" punch and "Modern Mosaic" embossing folder ...

and

I took the evening Class off, as I went to a Nutrimetics Autumn "Girl's Night Out" with fashion styling tips and seasonal makeup trends, and had so much fun, and met a bunch of really great ladies.

Project 1 “Spinning Circle Slider Card”
Back on my "Create With Kathe" Craft Class on 3rd April, the ladies made a Spinning Slider Card ...

and here is the video ...

And Thursday's card was case’d via an idea by Dawn Griffith at Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts

The card base is Crumb Cake, with naturals White on the interior.
The Circle Framelits are used to create a track for the flower to slide/spin around.

I am in love with the “Watercolor Wonder” Designer Series Paper, and this is used in the background of the “track”.

The main flower is from the “Flower Shop” stamp set, and is stamped in Black StazOn on Naturals White, and Is hand-coloured with the Blender Pens with the Marina Mist and Pacific Point Ink Pads. A tiny flower from the Boho Blossoms Punch is added to the centre of the flower, along with a Large Pearl.

On the bottom right corner of the card, flowers are punched from the “Petite Petals”, and “Boho Blossoms” punches, and the leave are from the “Bird Builder” punch. Little Pearls are added for the final touch
The flower spins on 2x 10c pieces of real money, connected with a Dimensional.

The sentiment is from the “Wetlands” stamp set, and on the front of the card is stamped in Black StazOn, and on the inside of the card, is stamped with Pacific Point.

Project 2 “Mosaic Madness” Card
This sweet little card is case’d via a Stampin’ Up! design.

The card base is Naturals White, which is first stamped with Marina Mist and from the “Happy Watercolor” stamp set.
The card is then embossed with the “Modern Mosaic” Embossing Folder..
The “Mosaic Madness” stamp set and matching and matching “Mosaic” Punch are stamped on Naturals White in Marina Mist and Basic Gray.
The Vellum is stamped with Black StazOn form the “Happy Watercolor” stamp set, and is adhered at the back of the card, covered with a Mosaic.

An abundance of butterflies from the “Beautiful Wings Embosslits” in Marina Mist and Naturals White card-stock are added, along with Pearls.
The inside of the card is stamped with Marina Mist, and features the
“Papillion Potpourri” and “Chalk Talk” stamp sets, and a gorgeous Large Pearl finished the card off.

Baby Card: “Zoo Babies” Style

Just this past week I have had two friends welcome baby girls into their lives.
So I just had to make a gorgeous “Welcome Baby” greeting card for them, featuring a baby elephant from the “Zoo Babies” stamp set.

The card base is Crumb Cake, with Naturals White as the overlay.

The base is stamped with the “Hardwood” stamp in “Sahara Sand”.
And “Sahara Sand” is also used to sponge the Naturals White card-stock.
I used the Masking Tape Technique for the sky in “Soft Sky”, and “Sahara Sand” for the earth, along with the “Gorgeous Grunge” stamp set for the speckled dirt.

The accent colour of “Strawberry Slush” is used to tie in with the little girl theme.
The words “Yippee-Skippee!” are from the “Yippee-Skippee!” stamp set, and “welcome, baby” and “so glad you’re here!” are from the “Petite Pairs” stamp set
The ear of the elephant is a ¾” circle of Strawberry Slush cardstock that has been crippled 8x to break down the cardstock fibres. The circle is then separated into 2 pieces, folded in half and a tiny brad added to resemble a pierced ear/earring!
A Candy Dot and Rhinestones anchor the corner of the card.
I just love the {outgoing} Strawberry Slush Ruffle Trim which finished the card of nicely.
And on the inside of the card ...
