Vanilla Cinnamon Dream

This is my own recipe, which I have used for many a special occasion, for MANY years.
I have finally put pen to paper and revealed my top secret recipe …

“Vanilla Cinnamon Dream”
300mL Cream, Whipped
2 Tablespoons Icing Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
1 Litre Vanilla Yoghurt
Cinnamon to taste {I use heaps!!!}
1 Tin {435g} Pineapple Chunks, juice drained off
1 Packet Marshmallows
“Jaffas” {for those of you not in New Zealand, these are round balls of chocolate with an orange candy coating!}

Whip the Cream with the Icing Sugar and Vanilla Essence.
Fold above into the Yoghurt, and then add heaps of ground Cinnamon.
Add the Pineapple Chunks {which have been drained well!}, and Marshmallows.
Drop the Jaffas on to the top of the dessert, cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
AFTER 2 hours, use a large spoon to fold the dessert, the coating will come off of the Jaffas and create a marble-like effect.

This is a favourite at many of our family gatherings, and my 3 brothers and son love to destroy it in a single sitting!
The Marshmallows dissolve slightly and taste like clouds, hence why I have called the gorgeous dessert “Vanilla Cinnamon Dream”.

Enjoy …

Guest Blogger: Jen Hassloch “Lovely As A Tree” Double Slider Card

“Lovely As A Tree” Double Slider Card By Jen Hassloch

Monday was my birthday, and my very good friend Jen made this gorgeous birthday card, a Double Slider Card, using the Stampin’ Up! “Lovely As A Tree” stamp set.
This isn't just any Double Slider Card, because when you slide with the ribbon tag on the right, the panel on the left shoots out to reveal a hidden message in the centre of the card!
If you look very closely, you will see on the middle panel (the card-base) that there is a Window Sheet (Acetate) that has a Tree stamped on it, with Black Staz On.
On the cardstock panel underneath, Jen has hand coloured with watercolour pencils a tree, and blended with Aqua Painters, and written the words “You’re One In A Million”.
So when the card is closed, it looks like a number of beautiful trees, on a grassy knoll, with gorgeous blue sky in the background, but when the Tab is pulled, a number of luscious tress are displayed on both panels, and the gorgeous hidden message is revealed!
The Student has well and truly outdone the Tutor this time!

Thanks so much Jen, YOU are one in a million!

Shabby Chic Friendship Card

“Hello Sweet Friend”

At my “Create With Kathe” Craft Class last week, we made this sweet little friendship card.
‘Tis all about layering with a Shabby Chic vibe.
Pink Pirouette cardstock is layered up in 3 layers, with the Lattice Bigz Die being a feature.
I cut 1 ½ Lattice’s and the join is hidden under the ribbon and sentiment detail.
The sentiment “hello SWEET FRIEND” is from the “Six-Sided Sampler” stamp set, and is stamped in Chocolate Chip onto Whisper White cardstock, and then sponged with Crumb Cake.
I just had to break out the Stampin’ Up! “Flower Trim” (R), it came with 100 gorgeous flowers that can be used as is, or coloured by Spritzing or sponging colour onto the flower.   This is the very first time I have used my Flower Trim and they are like gold!   For this card I used 1 flower, for the whole class we used another 3, so that means I have 96 left!!!
I have tied a strand of “Early Espresso” Bakers Twin around a cute little bow of “Artichoke” Denim Jean Ribbon.   The vintage lace is from a scrap I had leftover from a previous project.
Inside the card, I have used another Lattice and ¼’ed it by folding along the crease lines.
I have then adhered the Lattice on two of the edges to the middle of the card, and then made a gizzlion butterflies with the “Beautiful Wings Embosslits” in Whisper White and Pink Pirouette, and adhered the butterflies to the lattice, to create a look as if the butterflies, when the card is opened, are jumping off of the card!
On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I have stamped in Chocolate Chip the sentiment “love life & it will love you back” from the “Cottage Garden” stamp set.
On the bottom edge of the insert, I have finished off by stamping in Crumb Cake some cute little Pansy’s from the “Flower Shop” stamp set.

Chalk Talk Bow Card W/ Matching {Avon} Dress Up Lip Balm Holder

This card is all about layering and textures.
I used the “Chalk Talk” stamp set and matching Framelits to create the “happy BIG day” sentiment, stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, on to Pink Pirouette.
Baked Brown Sugar ink is also stamped onto Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, as it gives a fantastic tone-on-tone effect.
The Pink Pirouette cardstock is embossed with the Vine Street Embossing folder, and then layered onto Baked Brown Sugar cardstock.
I added some Candy Dots for added dimension and bling.
The Gift Bow is made using the new Gift Bow Bigz L Die which I ♥ as it is sew {pun intended} versatile!
I added a handmade Blossom, made with the Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds, to give it a faded “Pink Pirouette” look, I added a couple of drops of Strawberry Slushy Ink to the Simply Pressed Clay + I some “Dazzling Diamonds” to give the Blossom some Bling!
The inside of the card is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, with flowers from the “Flower Shop” stamp set and the words “happy Birthday wishes” are from the “Petite Pairs” stamp set.
The xtra cute {Avon} Dress Up Lip Balm Holder is made with “Pink Pirouette” cardstock as the base.
The “Beau Chateau” cardstock is embossed with the Vine Street (SAB) Embossing Folder.

Festive Flurry Snowflake Flip Card

So I have decided to rename my Craft Class as “Create With Kathe”, and at last weeks class we made this gorgeous “Festive Flurry” flip card.
As my new Circle Card Thinlits Dies had not quite arrived in time for my class, I improvised by using several different sized Circle Framelits to create the flip.
With the Festive Flurry stamp set and matching Framelits, I heat embossed in Silver the largest snowflake, I then coloured with Stampin’ Makers in “Bermuda Bay” and “Island Indigo” on two of the smaller snowflakes, and then cut with the Framelits.
I did two sets of Snowflakes, one for the flip on the front, and one for the flip on the inside.
I added a Frosted Finishes Embellishment to both Snowflakes to add a bit of glam!
To finish the Snowflake off, I tied a piece of silver ribbon to the top of the card, and with the Crop-A-Dile, I made a whole in the top of the Snowflake and threaded the ribbon through and tied a bow.   I wanted it to look like the Snowflake was being suspended by the ribbon.
On the left side of the card, I randomly stamped small Snowflakes in “Bermuda Bay” and “Pool Party” with the “Snow Swirled” stamp set, and then embossed with a Snowflake Embossing Folder.
On the facing/inside page of the card I embossed a piece of DSP “Festival Of Prints”, and used my trusty double sided tape to adhere the whole panel.
For the Christmas message I used several different Stampin’ Makers to colour the message from the “Season Of Joy” stamp set, in “Bermuda Bay”, “Daffodil Delight”, “Island Indigo”, “Melon Mambo”, and “Real Red”, I then huffed on the stamp to rehydrate it before stamping down.
The facing is stamped randomly stamped with small Snowflakes in “Bermuda Bay” and “Pool Party” with the “Snow Swirled” stamp set.

Simply Sketched Thank You Card

Guess what?!!!
YES, the Courier did a Saturday delivery for me, and waiting inside the rather large box, was the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Circle Card Thinlits Dies!!!
This is my first project using the new Circle Card Thinlits Dies, a “Thank You” card which I was asked to make for lady at our “Women Connecting” Craft Group.
Also in the box were a couple of new stamp sets “Yippee-Skippee!” and “Simply Sketched” … ahhhhh bliss!
On the flipping scallop, on one side I stamped in Staz On Black the gorgeous flower from the “Simply Sketched” stamp set, then used the Crisp Cantaloupe Ink Pad and Aqua Painters, + then blended with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Marker to give the flower graduating shades of colour.
The stem of the flower is coloured in Old Olive + the Aqua Painters to blend.
Around the outside of the flower, to illuminate it, I used a wash of colour from the Baja Breeze stamp pad, with the Aqua Painters.
On the other side of the flip, I stamped the words “Awesome … thanks!” using a masking technique. I covered the words “Awesome …” with a Post-It note, then stamped with Staz On Black (onto the word “Thanks!”), then used the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Marker to colour in the word “Awesome …”.
I really wanted to add a star with Glimmer cardstock, but had run out, so improvised by painting some of my glittery nail polish on to white cardstock, then once dry, cut the star from the Circle Card Thinlits Dies, and attached with dimensionals.
I used one of the small Framelits from the “Chalk Talk” set to attach the 4 strands of Organdy Ribbon in “Calypso Coral”, and tied in a bow.
The butterfly is made with the Butterfly Embosslits, in layers of Crisp Cantaloupe, "Beau Chateau" DSP and Vellum. I then stranded together some Organdy Ribbon in “Calypso Coral” to create the butterfly antlers.
The Beau Chateau DSP on the extended flap is embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.

Guest Blogger: Sally Rice with "Pink Pirouette Blossoms"

Today’s Guest Blogger on “The JorjaRose Files” is the very talented Sally Rice.
I ♥ the way that Sally thinks outside of the square box and may just turn out something that looks like a star!
Sally’s other talent {other than making gorgeous Stampin’ Up! crafts} is as the Food Editor for a very well known magazine “New Zealand House and Garden”.
Sally recently took the “Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds” {available to purchase for only $16.95} into the kitchen ...
She used her Gum Paste, coloured to a very sweet Pink {let’s call this colour “Pink Pirouette”}, to make these xtra cute decorated cupcakes.
The finishing touch to the cupcakes {along with the Pink Pirouette Blossoms} are these xtra cute little green leaves.

Gotta say, “I ♥ Sally’s craftin’”!
