“Create With Kathe” For Thursday 26th February 2015

I always like to do a mini display each week for my ladies, showing the past weeks Class, the projects I have made during the week, along with the projects for that day.
It always looks so bright and welcoming  …

This week we had fun making a thank you card and matching gift jar ...

Techniques covered this week are the “Smackin’ Acetate”, Spritzing, Die Cutting, stamping, sponging, layering and using the Envelope Punch Board to create a Tabbed File Card.
With the "Smackin' Acetate" Technique, no two cards ever turn out the same ...

Stamp sets featured are “Hardwood”, “Painted Petals” and “Papillion Potpourri”.
We re-purposed the brown paper that comes in the BBB {Big Brown Box that the Stampin’ Up! order arrives in}, and herbal medicine containers {thanks Kay and Teresa}.
I kept the colour theme throughout based on the “Painted Blooms” DSP that I used for the gift jar, of Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi ...

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and if you would like to make a Stampin’ Up! purchase online, please head on over  to my Stampin’ Up! website.

Happy craftin’,
Kathe.

“Card Off With Jen” For Thursday 5th February 2015

Finally Jen and I got together for another “Card Off” challenge.
{We} have  to confess that we finished at 2am, and ate a whole packet of “Salt and Vinegar “ chips and a whole bag of chocolate covered honeycomb {similar to bite sized Crunchie Bars} … oh yum!
We attempted to create to a “4 Easel Card”, and I think we did a fab job too!
I was so pleased with how my card turned out, that I will be teaching this card at this weeks “Create With Kathe” craft class.

My “4 Easel Card” is in shades of Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant, and features the Stampin’ Up! stamp sets “Petal Potpourri”, “Something To Say” and “Kinda Eclectic”.
This is the first card I have made with my new stamp set “Petal Potpourri” and matching “Flower Medallion” Punch – and I love the combo of this set.

For the sentiment Panel, I added a layer of construction tape, a strip of Wisteria Wonder Chevron Ribbon, along with punched shapes, using the following Punches: Large Oval, Extra Large Oval, Modern Label, Word Window and Banner.

For the 2nd and 4th Panels, on two layers of cardstock {in Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant}, I stamped the Medallion Flower in Versamark, then heat set it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and featured an elegant “Antique Brad” as the focal point.   I loved this combo so much, that two of the Panels have the Medallion Flower.

On the 3rd Panel, I featured the “Butterflies” Framelits, which is one of my favourite items from the Occasionals Catalogue.   I cut two butterflies {in Wonder and Elegant Eggplant}, and added a gorgeous vintage Flower Trim.

Jen’s card is a case via Debbie Henderson over at “Debbie’s Designs”, and features the Stampin’ Up! stamp sets “By The Tide” and “Something To Say”.
Jen’s card is a masterpiece, and has tonnes of fussy cutting, and each panel is coloured by hand using Faber-Castell Watercolour Pencils, Twinkling H2Os, and Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter.

I can’t wait for our next “Card Off” challenge, I wonder what our next theme will be?!!!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and if you would like to make a Stampin’ Up! purchase online, please head on over  to my Stampin’ Up! website.

Create With Kathe For Thursday 22nd January 2015

This weeks Create With Kathe” Craft Class was piggy backed on to the “Creative Inkers" Blog Hop , celebrating the Occasionals 2015 brochure.

Project 1. "Painted Petals" Card

This first card is in shades of Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush.
It features the gorgeous “Painted Petals” stamp set, which was the first stamp set on my Wish List when the new Occasionals brochure, which stated on the 6th of January.
The Blushing Bride cardstock has been scored using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, to give it an elegant look.
Classic Stampin Pads used throughout the card are Garden Green and Strawberry Slush.
For the Tag, I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and Project Life Corner, along with Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, which has been backed with Strawberry Slush cardstock.
The Tag has Venetian Crochet Trim that has been secured/stapled with the Handheld Stapler, and some pink twine has been tied in a bow and secured with a Glue Dot.
The finishing touch is the Pearl Basic Jewel, which has been coloured with the Melon Mambo Blendabilities, and anchors the card nicely.
For the card insert, a strip of Strawberry Slush cardstock has been added, which has been punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.
The flowers have been stamped in Strawberry Slush and Garden Green, and the sentiment in this card has been placed on the lower right corner.
This is a sweet little card, which I have already given away to a number of friends.
Wah-lah … "Painted Petals" card done!
Project 2 "Best Year Ever"  + Butterflies Card

My second card features the “Butterflies” Framelits, along with the “Best Year Ever” stamp set and “Irresistibly Yours” Specialty Designer Series Paper.
The card base is Bermuda Bay, with layers of Coastal Cabana and Pool Party.
The words “YOU made MY DAY” are stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.
The Tag is made using the Angled Tag Topper Punch, and the “Irresistibly Yours” Specialty Designer Series Paper has been sponged with Coastal Cabana ink.
Two butterflies have been cut from Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana cardstock, using the gorgeous new “Butterflies” Framelits.   They are layered and secured to the Tag, and a flower has been placed on the centre of the butterfly.
I have two different cards pictured, as one has Seam Binding Ribbon in Pool Party tied through the Tag loop, the other has the SAB2015 "Best Year Ever" Accessory Pack Polyester Ribbon in Coastal Cabana.
The finishing touch is the Pearl Basic Jewel, which has been coloured with the Coastal Cabana Blendabilities, and anchors the card nicely.
For the Card Insert, the words “Best. Year. Ever.” are stamped on Naturals White cardstock in Bermuda Bay ink.
The stamp set “Best Day Ever” also has a lovely splotchy circles stamp, which I have used in the lighter colour of Coastal Cabana.
Wah-lah … "Best Year Ever"  + Butterflies Card done!

I also made an alternate/mash up version in Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant

Sneak Peak:NEW Stampin’ Up! Occasions and Sale-A-Bration – Framed Butterflies …

I always try to make my Christmas {where possible}, and I made these gorgeous framed Butterflies for my Mom, Mom-In-Law and Sister-In-law for Christmas this year ... shhhhh don't tell them the surprise though!

This is my first project, featuring the NEW Stampin’ Up! stamp set "Butterfly Basics" with matching “Butterflies” Framelits …

I love the elegance of the Butterflies, and there are three Dies in the “Butterflies” Framelits pack, which are perfect for layering.

I also used the gorgeous Sale-A-Bration “Irresistibly Yours” Specialty Designer Series Paper, which can be sponged, Spritzed, or Brayered, to give a gorgeous emboss resist finish/technique, in this project I used my Brayer for the first time, along with Wisteria Wonder Ink Pad.
