Easter Treats …

Easter Treats …
The Easter Bunny forgot to come in our household this year.
I totally forgot to lay the treats out Thursday night/Friday morning, my hubby said: “that’s okay, JorjaRose thinks the Easter Bunny comes Saturday night/Sunday morning” … thank goodness I’m saved!

Anyways Sunday rolled around, and or course I had forgotten again!!!
I saw the remnants of the treats that had been eaten, and asked JorjaRose about it …
She said: “Mum you were half asleep in bed, and I asked if I could deliver the goodies to Reilly and me!” She used her southern accent of course, and rolled the “R” in Reilly! My family comes from Gore, and she really has the Southern accent and rolls all the “R”’s!!!   It's so cute!

So now I think I have failed the 2016 Easter Bunny, but hop{e} to be back on top for Easter next year.
So this is what the Easter Bunny brought to our lovely home last year ...

And how cute is this wee Bunny from the year before {2014} …

From my family to yours wishing you a safe and Happy Easter!

Women Connecting: Monday 21st March 2016

I was so delighted to be asked to teach again this Term at “Women Connecting”, at Church Of Christ - Richmond.
Women Connecting meets every 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of the month.
The cost is worked out based on the products used, my Class cost $5, the Class before was $12, and at that Class, we made a fantastic wooden Hoodall, which I will blog about soon!

On Monday night {21st March}, we made a beautiful Shabby Chic birthday card, with a Bookmark attached, and matching envelope.

It was really great to teach the ladies new techniques, such as faux stitching, rolling the corner of the cardstock {and ensuring the faux stitching and stamping showing on the reverse of the roll}, ribbon pleating, and many other yummy techniques!
I also demonstrated the ease of using the Stampin’ Trimmer, the Trimmer Rotary Addition {and Perforating Blade - retired} and Simply Scored Board.
There was allot of stamping on this project, to make it look really vintage, and we used the “Timeless Textures” stamp set, which is my favourite stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue, and also featured the “Birthday Blooms” stamp set.
Here's a sneak peak at alllllllll the ingredients used to make this gorgeous card, and yes, there were 22 Pearls featured!!!

I made up 40 Kits, and there were 33 ladies there on the night.
Although there was allot of preparation, on the night, the night flew by!

Can’t wait for the next “Women Connecting” meeting, Monday 4th April.

Storage Ideas With Kathe: The Warehouse: Focus Group

Last week I was shopping at The Warehouse, when I was approached by a tall looking fella called Blair, who asked me if I was a local.
As I live 3 corners from The Warehouse, I said that yes I was!
He then asked me if I would like to be part of a Focus Group, which started at 6pm {it was already 4.30pm, so I had to get my skates on with dinner etc}, if I did attend the 90 minute meeting, I would be rewarded with a $50 The Warehouse Gift Card!
Of course I said yes, because I have lots to talk about as a customer of The Warehouse, + the $50 Gift Voucher would come in so handy.
I asked the lady at the checkout to put all my goodies on hold, because I would be back later that night to pick up the goodies that I had decided I really needed to purchase!
The Focus Group was great, there were approximately 10 customers, and 6 The Warehouse personal, some from Head Office in Auckland, the Branch Manager, key personal from our local The warehouse, and of course Blair from Head Office too.
There were 5 topics we discussed, and we all talked one at a time, answering with our personal view on different topics, and subtopics, and the meeting was taped, so they could digest and deconstruct the meeting afterwards.
One of the most useful topics discussed was the Christmas Club, which I knew nothing about.
I seemed to be the youngest person there, and the only with a physical disability.   Blair had no idea that I walked with aid if a cane, as it was in my shopping trolley!
I mentioned that anything stocked below my knee line, I couldn’t see or access.
The width of the isles was too narrow for people with disability, and I had many other answers and suggestions.
It was a really great Focus Group, and I am so pleased as to how we as customers were listened too.
It was also really interesting listening to the staff, as they all genuinely loved working at The Warehouse, and would not consider working for another business.   One of the people there had been an employee of The Warehouse for 20 years!
Once the meeting finished, I dashed back to the Warehouse to pick up my goodies.
LOL and another couple of ladies had the same thought as we all laughed when we saw each other there!

On my list of purchases was the great Craft HoldAll by Craftwise called “Plastic Storage” {I purchased 2, as it was buy one, get one half price} some Craftwise Charms {again, buy one, get one half price}, as book called “Deadly Deceit” by Mari Hannah, a packet of Skittles Sours {my all time favourite}, 2 Cream Eggs and I also signed up for the Christmas Club!

An Open Letter To Revlon …

An open letter to Revlon …

I just sent the below email to Revlon, and their response was for me to call their Customer Services about this.
The outcome of the phone call is … well I have used the product, and maybe I should switch to a different formula such as ColorStay Liquid Foundation or PhotoReady Foundation.
Considering I spent $42 for a Revlon Foundation, that I reached the bottom of the pan on the 2nd of usage, I am NOT impressed!!!

This was a big investment for me, as $42 is allot to spend on a Foundation for me, as I usually use Avon products.

The email sent  to Revlon …

Hi There,

Last week I purchased the new Revlon Colorstay 2-iN-1 Foundation {the new one on the market}, in Ivory.
I reached the bottom of the Compact on the 2nd day I used it!
When I went back to the Pharmacy, I was told I must be very heavy handed.
I pointed out {politely} that I am a {former} Make Up Artist, but was told not is these words though, but tough shit, and was suggested that I buy a MakeUp Brush for the remainder of the Compact.
I am NOT impressed!!!
All I ask is that the makeup Compact be exchanged with a Revlon Liquid Foundation.
I have booked in with the Revlon MakeUp Artist that is visiting Farmers Richmond late next weekend {Thursday/Friday/Saturday 31.03.2016 – 02.04.2016}, and can return the Compact to her then.

Best wishes,
Kathe.

So be warned, if you do decide to outlay $42 for the new Revlon Colorstay 2-iN-1 Foundation, be prepared to flush your money down the sink.

My Daughter Made It Into The Local Paper ...

So anyone that knows me, knows that I keep my children out of social media, and I don't share photos of them on my website, or on any off my social media platforms.
So imagine my surprise today when I received an email from a friend about our daughter today!
I didn't even know she was at Nelson Intermediate yesterday {my hubbie just informed me that he signed the permission slip for the school excursion}, or even that her photo had been taken for the local paper!!!

"Waimea Intermediate year eight pupil JorjaRose Oldham, 12, in action at the Inter-Intermediate School Novelty Swimming Sports at the

Dusty Deserves His Own Post! …

Dusty, 3am in the Bathtub!!!

Dusty Deserves His Own Post! …

You may have discovered by now that we have a gorgeous cat called “Dusty”.
Dusty is a Russian Blue, and is the most gorgeous cat I have ever met!
Since Dusty came into the family, he gets up to daily high jinks, and terrorizes the neighbours, by leaving wee gifts of birds in their homes!
Some of our neighbours even give him treats, and my crafty ladies quite often stop in with cat biscuit samples they have been given in the “Junk Mail”!
Aside from high jinks, Dusty’s other occupation is  … sleeping, and he loves to sleep!

Dusty was a gift from a family, who read online what happened to our previous cat, who was attacked by 3 dogs, and subsequently had to be put down.
Nike had been in our family for 23 years, so it was really hard to see her put to sleep.
I wrote about the dog attack on Facebook, and a girl {now a lady!} whom I went to High School with {25 years ago!!! – you do the math!}, read the post on Facebook, and made contact via a private message, saying that their family would love to give our family a kitten, as their Moma cat was about to have a gorgeous wee litter of kittens!
We met Dusty when he was 5 weeks old, and brought him home when he was 6 weeks old.
As you may have gathered, we are dotty over Dusty, and I just can’t help but share photos of his antics!   Dusty even has his own hash tag #dusty!
I just went through my Facebook posts, dating back to January 2015, and this is what I came up with …
